Prescott Arizona - Point of Rocks Campground

Prescott Arizona was our destination this trip. We were booked for a week at Point of Rocks Campground. We were on a mission to check Prescott out as a place to live so did not do the touristy stuff.

Our first site at Point of Rocks. Note, most were not this good. We lucked out. Most were pretty terrible. Closely spaced, no privacy etc.
I have mixed feelings on Point of Rocks Campground. On one hand they have good rules like no aggressive dogs or camp fires. On the other hand they have no enforcement so there are lots of aggressive dogs and camp fires.
The rocks behind our site. The dogs got up extra early and with extra enthusiasm because they wanted to climb rocks.
You will notice that almost none of my rocks pictures are during full sunlight hours. That is because it is too hot to go up them when the sun is shining directly on them.
Dogs in their pen waiting for something exciting.
To get our door on this side of the site we had to go face in. We were directed to back in as that is how the utilities are lined up. However if we did that we would face the neighbors RV. So we called and got permission to go face in and we used our extension cords etc for utilities. The two park workers we met, a man at check in and later a lady were very nice and helpful. They would tilt me toward staying here again.

The Dells.
The Dells were accessed by a short path from the south side of the campground which was good. The bad was that it wasn't a very nice path. It passed another campground, a soccer field, parking lots, and a parking lot with boat input was at the end. As a result we didn't walk it much.
Pretty view of the Dells.

A very happy dog. Critters could be smelled in the rocks.

I think this was Lynx Lake in the national forest SE of Prescott.
The dogs enjoying the rocks.

All of the rocks pictures are walking from our campsite.

Most pictures are at dusk. No going on the rocks mid day in the intense sun.

The dogs really loved it.

A view of our RV from above when in the rocks.

View over to the lake.

Lots of interesting cactus.
There was a better path on the north side of the campground but we discovered it late and never found out if it went to water.
